Kentucky rebounding leader Bob Burrow dies at age 84

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Bob Burrow, a two-time All-American whose per-recreation common of 17.7 rebounds stays a Kentucky single-season report, has died.

The varsity made the announcement in a launch Friday, saying that Burrow died Thursday in Franklin, Tennessee. He was eighty four. No explanation for demise was given by the varsity or funeral residence.

Burrow pulled down 459 rebounds in 26 video games through the 1954-fifty five season. His 34 boards towards Temple on Dec. 10, 1955 are tied with Billy Spivey for Kentucky’s single-recreation mark. His 20.1-level scoring common ranks fourth in class history and his 823 rebounds rank 10th.

After transferring from Lon Morris Junior School in Texas, Burrow scored 1,023 factors from 1954-fifty six with Kentucky. He earned Related Press All-Southeastern Convention and All-American honors each seasons and was a constitution member of the UK Athletics Corridor of Fame in 2005. Burrow performed two NBA seasons with the Rochester Royals and Minneapolis Lakers.
