EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — The lads arrested Wednesday by Eugene police after a patrol car was stolen and an officer fired his gun have been recognized.
The Register-Guard stories Eli Perini has been charged with unauthorized use of a car, driving beneath the affect of methamphetamine, felony fleeing or trying to elude a police officer and other costs.
Scott Saddler has been charged with escape and interfering with a peace officer.
Eugene Police Chief Chris Skinner says an officer identified in courtroom documents as Tyler Tremain thought the lads appeared “really suspicious” and tried to stop them. After a confrontation, police say Saddler ran and Tremain followed.
Paperwork say officer Lucas Blackwell saw Perini stealing the first officer’s patrol automotive and that Blackwell shot at it. Nobody was injured.
The stolen automotive was found deserted.
It wasn’t recognized if the two males have attorneys.
